Writing in Past Tense
When writing a novel, choosing a tense is almost as important as choosing a setting for the story, or choosing the point of view you want to tell the story in. Many authors write in present tense, while others choose past. There is great debate about which tense is best, or at least best for a specific genre. For this post, I want to discuss the importance of staying on track.
My First Query
Let me say how terrifying and nerve-wracking it is to click the send button. I must have read the whole email, including the first three pages of my manuscript, at least a dozen times. Fighting the urge to either chicken out or make unnecessary changes, I held my breath and sent it to the literary agent.
Writer’s Block
With the help of my writer friends, I regained the momentum I need to complete the next step of my journey. I sincerely thank everyone who offered advice and encouragement along the way.
